Review: Fall Into Temptation by Lucy Score

🌅 Small towns have a way of magnifying both love and gossip, and in Lucy Score’s Fall Into Temptation, that charm and chaos take center stage.

Another Pierce brother and another heart swoon from Lucy Score.

Beckett Pierce, Blue Moon’s lawyer and mayor, is the definition of a good guy. He prioritizes family and community, carries the weight of responsibility following his father’s passing, and possesses the kind of steady, protective energy that makes him immediately likable. Enter Gianna Decker (Gia), a strong single mom who moves to town with her two kids for a fresh start and opens a yoga studio. Their attraction sparks instantly, but between his public role, her determination to prioritize her children, and the watchful eyes of a nosy town, they try (and fail) to resist.

This romance delivers some great tropes: single mom, small town, forced proximity with landlord/tenant, opposites attract, found family, meddling neighbors, and kids who steal the show. Evan, Gia’s thoughtful stepson, and Aurora, her precocious daughter, add heart, humor, and realism to the story. Watching Beckett fall for Gia is delightful, but watching him fall for her children is what really elevates this book.

The chemistry between Gia and Beckett is undeniable, and their relationship strikes a balance between spice and tenderness. Their conflicts, Beckett’s protectiveness, Gia’s fear of risking stability, and the scrutiny of small-town life all felt authentic. However, a few dramatic moments (especially Beckett’s over-the-top public groveling) stretched believability. Still, that’s part of the fun in a Blue Moon book.

Lucy Score excels at writing heroes who aren’t jerks in disguise but genuinely decent men. “I didn't understand it at the time, but what my heart was saying was 'There you are. Finally.'” That sentiment sums up this novel: heartfelt, imperfect, and deeply romantic. It’s cozy, charming, and surprisingly emotional, with just the right amount of spice to keep things fun.

Fall Into Temptation is a warm, funny, and spicy small-town romance about love, second chances, and learning to embrace happiness, even when it comes wrapped in yoga pants and two adorable kids. 🪣🧘‍♀️🌶️🔥

Review: Once and Again

Once and Again by Rebecca Serle My rating: 5 of 5 stars “…happiness is determined not by getting what you want but by determining which things to hold on to and which things to let go.” 🌅 Since discovering Rebecca Serle five years ago, I’ve been hooked on her stories of magical realism. I’ve consistently rated them 5 stars, and this one is no different. Why do I love them? They are part of a group of stories that sneak up on you quietly and then completely undo you. In  Once and Again  Serle blends magical realism with raw family drama, delivering a tale that is as much about love, memories, and regret as it is about the impossible question of  what if . At its heart, this book follows three generations of Novak women, each of whom carries a silver ticket granting them the chance to rewrite a single moment in their lives. For Lauren, caught between her faltering marriage, her longing for motherhood, and the reappearance of a pas...

Review: The Guncle

The Guncle by Steven Rowley My rating: 5 of 5 stars 🌅I was so looking forward to this book from the cover and description alone. From the moment Patrick O’Hara—semi-retired sitcom star, caftan enthusiast, and kid christened GUP (Gay Uncle Patrick)—reluctantly agrees to care for his young niece and nephew for the summer, you know you’re in for a story that will make you laugh until your cheeks ache and tear up when you least expect it. What begins as a short-term arrangement after the loss of the children’s mother (Patrick’s best friend) and their father’s stint in rehab becomes a transformative season of unexpected family, unfiltered humor, and tender healing. Patrick’s Palm Springs lifestyle—equal parts martinis🍸, snark, and Oscar Wilde-worthy one-liners—is hilariously ill-suited for two grieving kids, yet it’s in this clash of worlds that Rowley finds the novel’s magic. Through “Guncle Rules” that range from irreverent (“Rule number five:...
